Well, I keep frequenting Sushi House. There is one reason, really. The Sushi is consistently good. In fact, better than anything you would get at any of the local competitors (save for NAOE, which has since been moved to Brickell and is in its own league. By a large margin). I usually order take out. Sit down at the bar. Have a drink. Wait. Solace. But the place is a freeze box. I get it. Hint for Russian owners: To be cool you don't have to turn down the A/C to 55 (Russian summer, apparently). Not cheap. But worth it. You get what you pay for but it's not a rip off. As long as the quality stays up, I'll remain a customer.

I love coming to this restaurant to get my Japanese fusion appetite fix. Their food is delicious, the service is great, and the whole atmosphere of this establishment is perfect. The ambiance and style will seem like a cool boutique hotel/club in South Beach. I recommend trying the tuna tartar. It has cilantro, jalapeño, and tempura flakes that will savor in your taste buds. Their wild caught Kani-Su is so fresh you do not need any dressing or sauce to spice it up. Overall, this is a great restaurant that caters to Asian fusion cuisine. The ambiance of this restaurant allows anyone to dine in style. They have a great happy hour menu from 5pm-7pm. Try it out!

Never order take out food.... Six rolls, one hour waiting with the restaurant at 30 percent of its capacity. If want tontake out call early, really early, I love coming to this place but will never order again to take out.

Ladies, bring a sweater. This place is freezing, and the blueish purple neon lighting doesn't make it feel any cozier. The fact that the place was empty at 7:00 pm on a Friday night should have been a dead give away, but I had a dining voucher I wanted to use. The menu looks great, but the prices are almost double of similar Sushi restaurants. Be forewarned, the food sounds and looks a heck of a lot better than it tastes. Dinner started promising with the fried calamari appetizer. Crispy batter, tender fried calamari tossed with greens and a carrot ginger dressing. Very nice, and a decent deal for the $10 happy hour price. The Cubbie roll had a lot going on, but not in a good way. The teriyaki and sweet wasabi dipping sauces were way too sweet. Since when does sushi come with a dipping sauce anyway? Fresh quality sushi doesn't need a sauce to mask it. The tempura fried pieces of eel and shrimp on top of the roll were cold, hard and dried out, like they had been fried ahead of time and sitting out. The nori strips were tough and impossible to bite through, which is a problem when the individual sushi pieces are the size of a baby's fist. Try chewing that with your mouth closed! Desserts are expensive, around $10. Chocolate volcano cake a la mode $13. Who do they think they are? Newsflash: This is a strip mall with Party City next door, not the Fontainebleau. My dessert sounded nice when the waitress described it: Banana tempura fried in a sushi roll, crusted with coconut flakes. It took about 10-15 minutes to arrive. I took one bite. Mind you, I am NOT picky when it comes to dessert, especially fried desserts. This one actually sucked. Cold half-ripe banana covered in bland and cold white rice, with rancid tasting coconut flakes on the outside. Come to think of it, all of the tempura items tonight had that rancid oil taste. Not only does it taste wrong but it's also carcinogenic. Needless to say, I sent the rancid cold coconut roll back and asked for the fried cheesecake instead, usually a safe bet. So I thought. What I got was sweetened cream cheese (gross) wrapped in double spring roll wrapper, with the inside wrapper being raw and doughy. The raspberry sauce was artificial tasting and too sweet. I am so surprised at the 4-star reviews. Rancid tasting fried food is a no-no in my book, especially when it's this pricey.

Great tasting sushi. Very fresh ingredients. Open late and takeout available. I tried California, Spicy Tuna, and Spicy Salmon rolls. Bar maid was very friendly. A little overpriced, but when your craving calls at midnight there are not many places open nearby. 8 dollars a roll and you get 8 normal size pieces. The environment was high end, so if you come to sit down I suggest you dress up a bit.

I came here for Valentine's Day with my boyfriend and let me start off by saying - wow! Great ambiance, with blue lighting and white decor. Everyone was dressed up, but that might also be because it was a special occasion. Either way, I would recommend you dress up a bit for this place. That's the vibe it gave me, anyways. They had a DJ playing music that was paired perfectly with the style of the restaurant (not too loud, so that you could hear yourself talk). The food - incredible. I think we ordered 5 or 6 sushi rolls and each and every one of them exceeded our expectations. Delicious, delicious, delicious! The alcohol was also phenomenal. I ordered a lychee martini and to this day, I have not found one that has been up to par. This was by far the most AMAZING martini I have ever had. Incredible. My boyfriend ordered a drink with Grand Marnier and he only had good things to say about it. This might be one of my favorite places ever, so much so that my boyfriend and I have made it our official Valentine's Day spot. I highly recommend! Oh, it's pricey, but it's worth every penny.

This place was great! Beautiful ambiance & tasty sushi. My waiter was a good help seeing that I'm a beginner-sushi-eater. Alcohol was a little expensive but the wine went so well with our rolls. Will definitely come back again if given the opportunity!
Delish delish sushi!! The sushi here is one of the best we've had in Miami, very very fresh & flavorful. The decor of the restaurant is very chic & beautiful. We really had a really great time, the only thing that could have been improved was the speed of food delivery. While we understand the craft of sushi and how it takes time to prepare, our wait for the food was a lot longer than expected considering the place wasn't even full. Overall we had a great time & will definitely be back again soon.

I just want to start off by saying this place is great. They met and exceeded my expectations. The food is terrific. The ambiance of the restaurant is incredible and the staff friendly. The place is posh and decked out in a elegant crisp white decor. A blue lighting is used as a partial backdrop for half of the restaurant. It has a full bar and a beautiful sushi bar with a picturesque painting behind it. We went to celebrate my wife's birthday. Our server was so great. Also the manager Danny spoke with us freely about the restaurant's sake and changes to the sake menu. He was very knowledgeable and nice. I highly recommend Asian Fusion dba the Sushi house in North Miami beach. You will not be disappointed.

Stopped by to grab some sushi. Place is clean and very quiet, romantic setting. Sushi was fresh and prices are affordable. I would recommend it! If you want to take someone on a date, they have booths with curtains, very nice!

Horrible. I ordered a spicy tuna roll that looked gray and tasted rotten... I told the waiter that the sushi was inedible and he rolled his eyes and walked away. No "sorry about that!" no "my god i'll take car of that for you" not even any eye contact. What should have happened was an apology and anew order sent out... he didn't even offer to give it on the house or to send a new plate out. I left without eating anything AND they made me pay for it. Literally the worst service I've ever received. Sushi Sake you are unforgiven.

Beware of the strict dress code. As a local restaurant GM in Wynwood I understand the meaning of a "casual dress code." As my fiance was wearing a 'trendy tank' we were ask to leave after being sat by the hostess (table of 5) and greeted by the server who recommended cocktails and brought us a round of water. The manager asked us to leave a few minutes after being sat. It was most embarrassing. One of the ladies with us was wearing a sleeveless top as well, but that was okay. So gents, if you would like to eat here, please no tanks. It will save you quite a bit of embarrassment. If the hostess would had informed us of the dress code before being sat, we would not have minded at all. I didn't know a sushi restaurant in a strip mall next to a Party City could have such strict dress codes. As an avid sushi goer (and being new to the neighborhood) I guess we will have to bring our business elsewhere. It's very unfortunate, we would have loved to have made Sushi House our new sushi spot.

Food was awesome especially the Pink Dragon roll. When I put it in my mouth, there was an explosion of flavor. Miami roll was also really good. I got my food to go so I can't speak to the service but the ambience and the place was fantastic. Definitely making this place one of my go to restaurants.

I've been to sushi house before and the food is delish but the service is HORRIBLE! We were seated and waited for 20min before we were even offered a glass a water. We ordered our food rigt away because it was obvious we wouldn't see her for another half hour if we didn't order immediately. We waited 25min for our appetizer, saw other ppl who were seated after us get teir food first. Finally when we got our main meals half of them came out while 3ppl sat and waited for another 20min for our food. By the time it came the other half of our party had finished their food. I called the manager over and he offered us free dessert but didn't really seem to care how awful the service was. When we got our bill, we got 3 checks, and the waitress put all the gratuity on 1bill. We asked for our food wrapped and that took at least 15min. Food: got the tuna tower which is great, but no rice so it can be a bit fishy. Also had the volcano roll which was great and a spicy salmon. The spicy salmon didn't use spicy mayo but chili sauce instead and it had to ill on the inside which all together took away some of the salmon flavor. Overall, food is great but the service was so terrible it ruined my entire evening

Beautiful restaurant. A little more pricey. I have only been a few times. Love the atmosphere. The rice in my rolls happened to be a little dry. But I loved the shrimp dishes I had.

The food is very average, but the ambience, service and drinks are nice. Don't get the tuna tower, it's paste, not tuna. And don't get the pizza, it's just a cracker with a tomato on top.

I have been to Sushi House on a few different occasions and it has always been a great experience from start to finish. First of all, the venue looks amazing! The decor and the ambience of the place will make you feel like you are in a fancy South Beach restaurant. The service has also been top-notch; it's pretty rare to see such high-level hospitality at restaurants throughout NMB and Aventura. The staff of Sushi House have definitely met and exceeded my expectations. Finally, the food has been fantastic! I have been to many sushi places in Miami and this one is by far one of the best as far as quality and selection goes. Overall a great experience, and I will definitely be back for more.

Sushi must not taste just as authentic sushi, but they should look like piece of art which you don't feel to destroy. Thats how I feel when I come to this place. Quiet, cozy, attentive and of course 5 stars! Tried to many sushi places as a sushi fan, now I am stop trying - I am done here.

There are very few options for good sushi in the midtown/downtown area, so after seeing the great reviews for Sushi House I was excited to try it and hopeful that it might become my new go to sushi place in the area. The first thing you notice is the decor - it's very stark white modern with high ceilings - not what you would expect from the unassuming location in a generic strip mall. This is definitely no hole in the wall. Also, they play some pretty new age-y music to match. We ordered the Veggie Dim Sum, the Chicken Teriyaki, an Oshi Roll, and the Sushi House roll. I asked for no spice on my roll (most of the signature rolls here come with spicy tuna) and they were happy to accomodate me. While the Veggie Dim Sum took a very long time to come out (after my first roll) it was worth the wait - it was definitely freshly made and very tasty. The rolls were both unique and delicious - I'd highly recommend both if you're making a first time visit here. The chicken teriyaki, although simple, was well executed. A few things to note: - We tried to come here Friday night and there was a sign on the door that they were closed "for the holiday". Since it was September 13th we couldn't figure out what holiday they were referring to and left puzzled and kind of angry (I had called and there was no mention of it on their answering machine). Turns out it was Yom Kippur? I imagine they're probably closed on most major Jewish holidays probably due to their location. - After that we tried calling repeatedly Sunday to make sure they were open (again, we had no idea what holiday they were referring to). No one picked up the phone. - The service was a little slow in the end once the place started filling up. It seems how they split up the sections was a little disorganized. - The rolls are definitely a little pricier than what you'll find elsewhere, and not any larger than average. Think $15+ per roll. Overall, the food was great and we had a very positive experience. Even though it's probably a little too expensive for me to become a regular here, I will definitely be going back for some more fantastic sushi.

Very impressive sushi restaurant. Fish is top notch and always fresh. Rolls are delicious and they're great at accommodation vegetarian requests. Ambiance is cool and hip, feels like an exotic getaway. Staff is very attentive and friendly. Been back many times and am always very pleased. Best sushi option in the area!

I can't believe I never wrote a review I have eaten at sushi house a few times. I recent,y went on a Saturday night the place was packed, with a really good crowd. They had a dj playing music in the background that wasn't to loud. Service could use a little improvement I had to keep flagging the bus boys to add to our order. First, you must get the spicy crunchy salmon appetizer $15 but a nice size portion. There prices definitely have gone up a little. Also, order the sea bass ceviche I didn't like this at all the fish was in strips and the corn was frozen and not fresh. The taste was not ceviche at all more like cut up strips of fish $15. Next onto the rolls to be honest they all look the same and have pretty much the same ingredients . The rolls were really good too. They are huge we got two appetizers, and two rolls and hardly could finish. The rolls are a little pricey $16-18 but a nice size and the fish it really fresh. Definitely a good place to go with a great atmosphere. I always forget I am in a strip mall when I go here . The place looks like it belongs in a South Beach hotel.

The food is pretty good and the price is great HOWEVER they are a little racist towards blacks... I must say this is my 3rd and last time here.. I refuse to spend money and try to enjoy my food while being treated unfairly.

I am never coming back to this restaurant ever again. I'm giving them one star just for the curtains and the ambiance. Other than that, I do not understand what the fascination is all about. Sushi is not fresh, service is ok, and it's too pricey. We left feeling like we never ate at all!

Very trendy decor and vibe which is unusual for a sushi restaurant. Feels like you're in South Beach. The food is always fresh. It is a little pricey but if you do not want to pay full price they have a happy hour 5-7pm weekdays which has good selections at reasonable prices

Bar stays open, service was good, live DJ and open late. The price mark for certain items doesn't make sense. (Pad Thai $11 & 4 small Coconut Shrimp $11...I'm confused) The signature rolls were very intricate. Good service and atmosphere.

Hands down the best sushi I've had. They use fresh fish and high quality ingredients. The king crab hot and sour is a must along with their specialty rolls

I'm glad I took the waiters recommendation: pink dragon, oshi, and sushi house rolls. They were Very good. I did however substitute salmon for the octopus in the sushi house roll. The place looks like a lounge. Has a DJ playing good music and the vibe is nice. There was no wait on a Saturday night as the place was only about 75% full. The service was excellent but I'm only going it 4 stars because the prices are a bit high. Also, I'm either building up a great tolerance for saki or they watered it down since they knew I would drink it as a saki bomb. After downing a large saki I am usually belching out Japanese insults at the staff and getting chased out by the knife wielding sushi chef, but not his time.,, not even the urge to sing karaoke.

BEWARE - while the sushi was great. This place will nickel and dime you to death and have ZERO concern over food allergies!! I notified the waitress of my allergies to cucumber and avocado. They DO NOT offer a roll that I could find that was not made with one or both of these vegetables. It was either a plain roll with no veggies or they charged you to use asparagus!! The rolls are already pricey, but to then charge someone with a food allergy to exchange the vegetable?? ALSO, ask for some siracha or kimchee, upcharge!! Couldn't believe it!! We won't be back for that reason. For example edamame is $7.00?? NEVER paid that much for it and it wasn't even seasoned correctly. Completely expected to be charged for the salt we ask for. Waitress was rude and inattentive. Hostess was texting on her phone at the door. Bartender was sitting down chatting with a friend. Our waitress disappeared and we had to disturb the hostess to ask her to locate the waitress. Not once did she ever ask, Is there anything else I can get for you? But she knew the upcharge prices!! 10/5/2014 9:15PM

The thing I like most about Sushi House is the ambiance. The restaurant is located in a strip mall and although they have outdoor seating, which may be nice on a cool night, there isn't much of a view besides cars. The beauty of the restaurant is inside. Some may come in and just see white, but for me I enter into a realm of sleek, sexy and mellow. The blue lighting, crystal chandeliers, and drapes of sheer fabric set the mood. In addition to the several tables throughout the restaurant, there are also plush booths that offer a bit of privacy which makes this a great place to have an intimate dinner. The vibe is also reflected in the service. Everyone remains professional but exude chic and sophistication. The sushi here isn't extra-ordinary, but is still very good. The Cubbie Comfort Roll is a good option, made of spicy tuna, soft shell crab, cilantro, and jalapeño pepper topped with shrimp & eel tempura, spicy mayonnaise, teriyaki and sweet wasabi sauce. It is good but the Pink Dragon comprised of shrimp tempura topped with a mixture of baked kani kama, masago, scallions and finished with a spicy sweet sauce is even better. There are also other good sushi options on the menu. On my last visit, I decide to try the Crispy Honey Shrimp. I didn't like it. I enjoyed the tropical fruit chutney, but the sauce was way too sweet and the shrimp batter was more crunch than crisp. The Pad Thai which I added Chicken to was pretty average but was by no means bad. I asked for it to be really spicy and they completed my request so I was happy for that. I am usually all about the food so that is usually the main reason for me loving a particular restaurant, but the vibe here is so me that even though the food does not equal five stars, I just love it anyways!

Amazing sushi - sushi special - Dragonfly is amazing - the whole place is white - it's that clean and fresh - the staff is great and I'm so impressed with the cleanliness. For a Wednesday night it's busy and the food was stiff fast!!

I thought I had reviewed Sushi House previously since I go quite often, but I guess not! This is really a 1.5 star because I was very upset and disappointed by Sushi House tonight. Before tonight, I would have given 4+ My fiance and I go to Sushi House, on average, once a month to every 6 weeks or so. We have been for dinner and happy hour many times. Tonight, we had an early dinner and a drink somewhere else and were not ready to go home yet. We only wanted one drink each, so I suggested we stop by Sushi House for the end of happy hour to get the 2-for-1. We normally sit inside at the bar and chat with a very friendly blonde bartender. Tonight she was off, so we ordered 2 Asian Pear martinis with a brunette bartender we didn't recognize. She served the drinks and we asked for the bill because we intended to take the drinks to the outside seating and leave when finished. We questioned the bill when the bartender charged us for 2 full priced drinks. She said 'no sharing the 2-for-1'. But, we didn't want 2 drinks each. And, we had always had 2 drinks each every other time we had been there, so we were not aware of this policy. Many Miami restaurants we go to allow sharing for happy hour, or even doing a double shot in one drink instead of 2 single shot drinks. Long story short, the drinks were not nearly as good as what we are used to. We asked to speak to the manager and while waiting, we took one sip of the 'pear' martinis. They didn't even taste like pear. They were drinkable, but not at all the same drink we enjoy there all the time. The manager came out, and in the end, allowed us to share the 2-for-1. So, we got to pay $13 for 1 sip of a drink we didn't like. We paid for the lousy drinks we didn't even consume, and left. The sushi is good, on other visits we have made, and the decor/ambiance is very nice. But, I won't be back anytime soon. This experience has left a very bad taste in my mouth.

So our friends recommended this place. We got there liked the decor and the food was really good except for the fact that at the end of our ($400 - 4ppl) meal we saw a cockroach outbreak in front of our eyes on our seats and table. The manager and staff apologized said it was the first time they had seen something like this etc... manager killed the first 2 with a towel. I paid left (you're thinking why I paid?, me too) .... got home to find a cockroach in my kids diaper bag! Honestly not the type to accept discounts and sh*t happens but the fact that I brought this problem back to my apartment pissed me off. Situation was not handled properly by the management team. They should have done everything under the sun to make this right and avoid a review like this!

Located in a little shopping center in Aventura. But the moment I walked in I felt like I stepped in to a prince video! There were drapes everywhere and back lighting. I'm not saying this was bad, that's just what it was. It's better than going to a run down sushi place. Now...THE FOOD We ordered the tuna tartar and I wish we would have ordered even more. The tartar was kind of a big deal. Someone ordered ceviche...it came with tortilla chips...I am now confused. I did order one of the martini's I saw everyone rave about. I tried Mango. It was solid. Then came the Sushi. It was alright. I know...I expected more from a prince video too. At the end of the day, I really think the place looks better than it is. The part that was a bit killer was that everything was pretty damn expensive. I heard that it becomes some sort of lounge later on at night. But I went on a Sunday afternoon...don't make me pay the same as people that go late at night to party. Have some mercy please. I'd like to see what it's all about at night, til then, A-OK

LOVED this place! We really needed a high end sushi restaurant in the area. This place not only has sushi, but the menu is so unique and authentic! They even have a sake called Purple Haze, has a touch of raspberry flavor. YUM! This is an awesome romanticly chic place to eat, drink, and/or have appetizers. It kind of reminds me of the Delano. Supposedly they have a DJ on Friday and Saturdays, but the Saturday we went, didn't. Don't know why. In any event, I highly recommend this place but be prepared to throw down some big money because this place is NOT cheap or even average. I would say above average. But in a sense, you get what you pay for.

I have been to a lot of sushi restaurants with my family (3 teenagers) and this is ranked as the highest. We all have different tastes in sushi and asian food. Sushi house has very high quality sushi with perfect proportion of rice to fish. The cooked food is also outstanding. Dim sum that melted in your mouth. Flash fried bok choy which was so flavorful. Service was a knockout. No problem to make adjustments to order or order another entree when realized how good everything was. The three sushi chefs crank it out quickly, another huge plus when feeding teenagers. I was worried when we first walked in since the decor was very fancy; usually doesn't equate to high quality sushi. This place was the exception. Value is high since the prices are not low but the amount of food is enormous compared to others who tout a lower price. Try it. I was impressed and will be going back tomorrow night.

Had a wonderful dinner there last night. The tuna tartare appetizer is huge, enough for 4 people easily. It is presented beautifully and is rich and flavorful. They do this salmon thing which they torch like a creme brulee which was my favorite. After these two apps we were full, but kept ordering because it was so good! The atmosphere is pretty and fun, try and get one of the booths if you want privacy, the long communal table looks nice too. I would highly recommend this place.

Note: I have never eaten here and only got take out orders. The food here is exceptional and their sushi rolls are very creative. My favorite is the Sushi House roll which I like to substitute with Salmon instead of Octopus. The inside is very beautiful and I hear at night it becomes a happening place. Sushi House might be expensive but on the other hand what sushi restaurant isn't?

I'm not sure what it is about this place, but I really like it every time I go! You wouldn't expect it though, it's located in a random strip mall in north miami, but it always delivers. Seafood is always fresh, service is good, decor makes you think you are in a sobe restaurant, yet you are in a strip mall. If you are in the area, I def recommend.

Great sushi and very cool decor. You'll feel like you're on South Beach and forget you're actually in a strip mall. Ignore the exterior and hit this place up for some of the best tasting and best priced sushi around. We had the Cancun and Godzilla and they were delicious!

Wow I loved this place! The minute you walk in you feel the nice vibe. The hostess was very friendly and helpful because I wanted a booth but there were none available and she told us she would move us to one as soon as someone stood up and she did. The service was very good. We tried the Oshi and Pink Salmon. Delicious!

Spicy crunchy salmon! One of the best sushi spots in Miami. Cool vibe and delicious. Worth the drive if you are far from North Miami. Probably the most underrated, or most undiscovered sushi restaurant in Miami. And even though it is in a strip mall, it feels very South Beach trendy.

I really liked this place it has good atmosphere, pretty decor and the food was really good. The tuna tataki in the shape of a heart is one of the best I had the tuna tower with avocado also very good, and the miso soup was one of the best I have had. Would definetely go again.

Ambiance is great, but the sushi is no longer good. This was once a go to place for amazing food and a great time, but lately, the atmosphere is the only enjoyable part. Took out out-of-towners for drinks and "great sushi" but ended up with having to send back the sushi and apologize to my friends. Hoped that this was just once, but was recently told of a similar occurrence.

The restaurant has a cool club-like feel with clean, modern design and beautiful chandeliers. Service is friendly and efficient. The seaweed salad was very good. The black cod with purple rice entree was quite good. Their sushi rolls were also good to very good. Purple haze sake was delicious and an excellent compliment. Fair wine list. However, many items on menu overly priced in my view. Ample parking in this strip mall.

Great food, the day we went there was a party going on in half the restaurant. Food is amazing , service is nothing special. Try the turantula roll, sushi house roll and Spicy tuna tower. The tower is delicious but a bit hard to eat with chop sticks. Really want to try the lunch happy hour here.

This review is based on catering only. We ordered catering for part of a Holiday Party that we had. Our order was ready on time as promised, they even called the day before to confirm our entire order. They were professional, and very friendly. When the Sushi platters arrived they looked beautiful, great presentation! We ordered 50 different rolls which consisted of mainly Tuna, Salmon, Spicy Tuna and Shrimp. One platter was made entirely with rice paper instead of seaweed, per my request. The eating frenzy began and everyone loved the Sushi. It was fresh, tasted perfect. The avocado, the cream cheese, was all fresh and delightful. Even some who never had Sushi before was eating and enjoyed them. The prices were a bit high but well worth it. The quality was there and it made for a great party for those who ate it. It seemed like they gave us so much more than what we ordered. At the end of the evening we condensed the two trays together and we had one full tray left. Luckily a fellow friend who loves Sushi took it home with her, so no waste. They did a great job and I would highly recommend for catering. Now I am looking forward to dining inside to see what else they offer.

1 part nightclub, 1 part restaurant. I found the decor to be a bit much, but I hear it goes OFF later on in the evening. It's like walking into the Ice Queen suite. Our waitress recommended the best dishes, and didn't disappoint us in the least. The seaweed salad is to die for, and HUGE. Their tuna tartar was absolutely delicious, and the rolls are immense. I could have shared mine with someone else at the table. We ordered a conch salad as well, which is not on the menu (but I highly recommend it). I had the White Dragon roll which consisted of spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, avocado and was topped with masago and a spicy scallop. If you don't like mayo ask them to leave it out, because they add a dollop on the top. Other rolls i'd recommend are the Oshi, and the Sushi House (amazing). Their drinks were on another level. I tried a cucumber fizz martini which was made with saki. I can't wait to return.

Finally an upscale food experience with a South Beach 'Delano' hotel look and feel. Located in a strip mall adjacent to mediocre stores, ones that I am not attracted to. Arrive at the entrance of Sushi House and you feel so trendy chic! My gorgeous friend and I sat at the bar and was greeted by a delightful and most stunning young woman, with the sweetest personality. She couldn't be more accommodating and knowledgeable about the menu, which had a lot to offer. We ordered cocktails followed by one tuna appetizer after another. We began with a Pink Dragon Sushi House specialty roll. OMG it was so divine. A blend of shrimp tempura topped with a mixture of baked Kani Kama (imitation crab meat), why not real crab? And masago (fish eggs from the Capelin fish), scallions and finishes with a spicy sweet sauce. It just melted into an amazing palate in your mouth with every bite. A must try! Then a handsome server delivered a Spicy Tuna Tower. It was perfectly arranged on a virgin white ceramic plate ready to be 'forked'. I didn't want to share this one but since I was dining with a good friend I had to split it in half. I was in heaven with every helping of spicy tuna staked with avocado and black tobiko (caviar that is squid colored with a slightly salty taste), topped with teriyaki marinated shiitake mushroom, garlic sauce and sweet wasabi sauce. Warning: Do Not Share! The lighting was elegantly set with hues of blue that echoed the interior. The lighting was so well balanced especially since it was dim enough so everyone looked beautiful. Floor to ceiling diaphanous white drapes partitioned dining sections throughout the tall open space. A nice plate of veggie fried rice arrived at our setting. It was moist and delicious. We ended with a Chocolate Volcano dessert. It just irrupted inside our mouths oozing warm chocolate down the sides of our lips. So lickable! It's a winner from start to finish setting off all your senses, sight, sound and taste. I will so be there next week. Will you?

I feel like I've just been robbed!!! This had to be the worst sushi I have ever had. Everything tasted like a flavorless ball of mush. This was just sad and I came here starving and everything taste good when you're starving but this did not!!! Price definitely doesn't match the quality of food you're getting. If you think this is good sushi then you don't know good sushi......

Good sushi at a place with great Miami-esque decor. You'll know you're in Miami when you eat here. The neon colors and the good sushi make this a solid spot.

Ultra modern posh decor, great sushi and presentation, service is good as well. Pricey for what it is: sushi, you are really paying for the decor, but the sushi is great!

LOVED IT! We arrived at our North Miami Beach condo at 11pm, dropped off our luggage, and went straight to Sushi House. We started dinner at midnight and were not rushed at all. The place is open until 2am during the week, so unless you want to drive 180 blocks down Collins to get to South Beach, you should try this place first! The restaurant is clean, stylish, and the food was amazing! Next time we come down for a weekend, we are definitely eating here!

Delicious food, great happy hour. I do not know why it is always empty. The service is hit or miss. Sometimes they run to serve you, and sometimes they let you sit there waiting for ever. Try the ceviche..yum!!

The ambiance is awesome. I ordered a roll which the server said was one of their best. It was terrible. (i cant remember the name) I don't think it's that hard to get a roll to taste good. We eat sushi at least once a week. My husband had a $30 sushi & sashimi plate. Fish was very fresh but way too overpriced. We usually pay no more than $20 for the same plate. Probably wouldn't be back.

Someone from school took me here..and I was impressed. I do love the decor...very very art deco! We end of having a variety of sushi rolls...which to my expectation...were very good. First we had the spicy tuna tower.. I actually thought it was individual rolls...but a big pile of tuna with cucumber wrapping. For the main dinner, we had pink dragon and Oshi.. my favo was the Oshi. We also tried one of the steak dishes...Spicy Szech Steak...not worth the money. I have to say, service was a bit slow... my friend kept having to have someone help us. I will try this place one more time..to hopefully get a better service experience. Location isn't the best...a bit hidden.. maybe a local favorite. The drink prices were reasonable...martini.. $12.00 and very good I have to say. Overall, decent experience.. a bit on the expensive side.

best happy hour ever! I'm a cheap bastard and love a good deal and good sushi, the rice is consistently perfect, warm, sticky and soft. the rolls are tasty, not rolled to tightly or loose, these guys are pros. kind of a weird location, but when you get inside the place is all white and polished, sleek and hip.

What can I say? What a great sushi place to go out on a date. The price is comparable to other 4 or 5 star places on Yelp. The sushi is great and fresh and the service was great as well. What really sells this place is the decor. Unlike many sushi places that we have been to, the ambiance was great and relaxing. We are definitely coming back in the near future.

Great atmosphere even on a Tuesday night after 9 pm. Started with a Japanese single malt whiskey which was excellent. Started with tuna tartare as an appetizer. Then had the pink dynamite with salmon instead of shrimp. It was so excellent we ordered another one. The best roll was the sushi house roll. We substituted with hamachi. This place has great service, amazing food and fun atmosphere.

Petisha B.
Everything I've had on the menu is absolutely delicious. Everything. Last visit I had the ceviche, delicious and fresh! Then I had the Tarantula roll wrapped in cucumber (I'm not a big fan of rice) and it was absolutely to die for, the flavor-perfect. There was an order of coconut shrimp that were just divine, practically melted in your mouth. The spicy crunchy salmon is also too good for life! My friend had the salmon entree (cooked) huge salmon filet, medium well, sweet, savory and divine! The martinis are also quite tasty! I started with the lychee, moved onto mango, then the antioxidant berry, then the pear.... All mixed to perfection. Ambiance is absolutely great, terribly posh. The place looks so fresh! Worth a go for sure.

Excellent food, great service! It's a trendy place inside, I usually sit outside on one of the many couches to enjoy good food and wine with my husband and our friends. If you're trying to have a conversation it's best to sit outside, the music is pretty loud inside.

swank swank SWANK! love this place... can't rant enough about how awesome the sushi and the drinks are. the pear martini is my personal favorite... love the atmosphere... low lighting, nice flowy white drapes... everything is very modern.. snazzy lounge music is always playing (sometimes more loudly than others), and there's always a fashion show playing on the televisions... pricey? yes. will your sushi loving date be impressed?? absolutely! i recommend.

This place is great. It sits in the middle of a strip mall, but it looks like it could be somewhere on South Beach. Slick and modern decor inside with white drapery that falls down from the high ceilings. The lighting is great and the sushi is very good. The Tarantula roll is a must try. Also try the spicy seafood salad. You will not be disappointed.

Thanks Again Yelp! As with everything worth finding in the area, Sushi House is buried in a strip mall. If it weren't for the cars in the otherwise desolate lot we never would have found that place. Good thing we did. This is not your average Sushi joint. The decor is very Miami with everything white and sleek. The music was great and not too loud. The menu looks expensive but the portions are large and everything tasted very fresh. Everything we ordered was delicious. I was a bit annoyed with the waitress who kept telling us what we were ordering was not cooked. I thought the name Sushi House would have given that away. I got over her once the food arrived. Aside from NAOE we've been to every sushi spot around and Sushi House blows the others away.

Best overall sushi joint in Miami. Sushi House is hidden in a very unassuming strip mall, but the decor once you get inside is amazing. It's elegant and sexy without being overwhelmingly "Miami." They have a great cocktail line-up, and the sushi itself is excellent. It's pricey, but it's worth paying the premium for the quality of food, atmosphere, and service. Creative plating can often be used to disguise tiny portions, but that's not the case here at all. Highly recommended.

From the outside, not much to see. Strip mall locale. Once you open the door, this is a sexy looking place with that TATU type decor. White, whimsical and...sexy. Nice selection of specialty drinks and Asian fusion dishes. Food was artistically presented, which I usually read as cover for lacking flavor, freshness or overpricing. In this case it was, the latter. But if you don't mind paying a bit more for the ambiance, the food was good. Nothing that will send you over the moon, but the sushi was fresh, good portions and the service not over attentive but knowledgable and helpful. Earlier in the day or evening, dress was casual but later in the evening, the attire seemed more dressy/trendy. Enjoy!

I used to come here like once a week or so, that's how great this place is. The service is always perfectly timed and friendly which in Miami is so hard to come by. The menu is perfect and if you go as often as I do, the chefs will recognize you and send you stuff from off the menu which is sure to excite your pallet. They have fun music and a fun drinks menu so this is a nice place to come for a lively double date or with a group of friends for happy hour!

This is definetly one of my favorite sushi places in South Florida. The fish is always fresh and delicious and their entrees are pretty good as well. I also love their wide selection of mojitos (mango is my favorite). The atmosphere inside is very trendy (trying to look like the Delano or something-all white). Whenever my boyfriend asks me where I want to eat I always say here. Even though I rarely get my way because the place is a little bit pricey and he is not in love with sushi like I am so he thinks it's overpriced. Almost anything off their "Specialty Roll" section of the menu will be good. I have come here with friends and tried almost all of the rolls. Many of them taste similiar but all are good. Funny story: I was here one night with my best friend from NY, she is very sushi picky and I talked about this place all the time so I was afraid her expectations would be too high but I was wrong. She loved it and demands we go whenever she is in town. Anyways, we were eatng dinner and two guys from another table sent over some drinks. The waitress pointed out the guys who sent them. They were much older and neither of us were interested but we thought it would only be nice to say hi on our way out. We stopped on our way to the door and breifly introduced ourselves and said thank you for the drinks. I guess the guys got nerves because they barely even answered us and just looked down at their plates. We were confused so we just kept walking. Note to guys: If you're gonna buy girls drinks--expect them to come to your table!

There are only 2 restaurants i would give 5 stars to in South FL for sushi.. And this is one of them, the other would be Naoe in sunny isles, see my other review for that restaurant. Sushi house is located in an unexpected location in a shopping plaza, probably the only restaurant in the plaza. The decor is very Miami-ish with white linens and tables everywhere. The food is outstanding, everything we ordered left us wanting more. We didn't order any nigiri or sashimi, so the freshness of the fish was not assessed accurately. However the appetizers and rolls were all excellent. We've had the spicy tuna tower, and the tuna tartar were both very good. The rolls were also inventive, and different from what I am used to, yet also to die for. The White dragon roll is memorable, it consists of spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, avocado, topped with spicy scallops...YUM.. The dessert was also decent too. This place is pricey, but also very tasty and unique. I would definitely make the trip to this restaurant, even if you live far away, yes its that good.

I am a huge foodie... Sushi is always super fresh. Best of all it is inventive. They have the normal uninspired sushi for safety, but also their own stuff. This is CLEARLY one of the best, if not the best, in Miami. I mean even in comparison to nobu and sushi samba...

We spent a few days in Miami with our 4 and a half year old for a wedding. This kid has quite a number of food sensitivities so feeding him when we are traveling is a bit of a pain in the butt. The waitress (sorry, can't remember her name) bent over backwards to help us figure out what my son could eat. She warned us with each dish at the table which things he could and couldn't have. The chef even recommended a few things we didn't see on the menu that would work for him. Service beyond. But not only that. The food was fabulous. My father in law wasn't in the mood for sushi so he got the ribs as an appetizer (enough really for a meal) and the dynamite mussels. Both great. We got the hot an sour soup (meh) and a white tuna sushi app (good.) For my main meal I had the miso black cod with black rice. Unbelievably fabulous. Fabulous. My b-i-l got a gigantic sushi plate. Fresh. top notch. The only down side was that we went on a Sunday and we're leaving on Tuesday. They're closed Monday so we can't go back. Grrrrr.

When it comes to sushi South Florida has quite an array but only a few stand out. Sushi House is in that category. The decor wows you, the food is eclectic, traditional with a touch of fusion and the service staff is very professional. I have tried many of their dishes on the numerous occasions I have dined there and have never been disappointed. It's on my list of places I love to return to.

What a find!! We are truly blessed! Owner Mark knows what he is doing and his customers are grateful: superior service, incredible dishes, Best of the Best: gyoza, spicy crunchy salmon, coconut shrimp, mongolian beef (orderd with fab mashed potatoes!). All sushi extremely fresh; as good as Nobu! Kid friendly. They even have an 'early bird' for the oldies. Very trendy, hot diners arrive after 9 pm to ?? Not a place to go to the bar to watch TV & eat mediocre food: Come To Eat!

Asian fusion with an eclectic and modern Asian menu. They have an extensive sushi menu. Do not miss the Spicy Crunchy Salmon. I have not found this dish anywhere else. More than just sushi and Asian, they also have really good steak. SH has a sleek, white decor, and has a club/restaurant hybrid feel to it. They also have great happy hour specials from 530-730.

i was a little put off by the outdoor appearance of the restaurant (its a bit hidden in the corner of a strip mall), but i'm glad my lover forced me inside. our waiter, jeff, was very friendly and courteous.. and the food was phenomenal. the ceviche was fresh, lettuce wraps with shrimp were fresh and flavorful and the tsunami dish was out of this world. a bit expensive, but well worth it. i am really picky when it comes to sushi places, but this definitely fit the bill for me.

Let me begin by first saying that the food is delicious. The staff who MAKES the sushi...very polite:-) However, the service is AWFUL! The waitors are rude and they rush you through the meal. I was still chewing my food when my plate was taken away. I was still eating when I was asked by the waitor if I'd like to have my food wrapped to go. I would understand if the place was crowded and there were people waiting, but this was not the case. There were many empty tables and a group of people even came in, sat down, and left without eating complaining that the service was horrible (I can understand them). I never experienced such bad service and we were rushed through appetizers and the whole meal in 30 minutes! I never knew my waitor's name, no smiles, and no "have a good evening." I will NEVER go back. The food was good, but I've had better at Sushi Siam (I've tried various locations--all good). The pricing is better, the food is just as good or better, and the service is impeccable. The service at Sushi House completely takes away from the quality of the food. Now I know why Sushi House is ALWAYS so empty... If I'm going to pay for any meal, I want to enjoy it. Good luck lasting much longer in this economy and with such awful service.

Try it out!
(5)Felipe E.

(2)Natalee B.
(4)Danielle D.

My husband and I visited this place on 06/24/15. The ambiance is very nice. The decor gives you a South Beach feel with long flowing white curtains and contemporary style furniture. Don't be fooled though this restaurant is located in a strip mall on the corner of Biscayne and 163rd which is nowhere near a beach or any body of water. The food was good. I had the Mongolian Beef ($23) and my husband had the Tsunami ($19). I also had a bowl of wonton soup. The entrées didn't come with any rice or sides just meat. For the price and the fact that this place isn't located inside of a ritzy hotel or on the beach I expected more for what we paid. In the end, I would probably visit this place again in the future now that I know what to expect.
(3)EliMelinda M.
(4)Aaron R.
(5)Michelle M.
First time here. Sushi happy hour options are different but good. Next time I want to come back and try more of a variety. Sushi was good.
(4)Alvaro B.
Stopped by to grab some sushi. Place is clean and very quiet, romantic setting. Sushi was fresh and prices are affordable. I would recommend it! If you want to take someone on a date, they have booths with curtains, very nice!
(5)Sami K.

(2)Robert M.

(2)Jackie A.
Beautiful restaurant. A little more pricey. I have only been a few times. Love the atmosphere. The rice in my rolls happened to be a little dry. But I loved the shrimp dishes I had.
(4)Gina L.

(5)PaulSEGAL ..
Sushi tower not very impressive tasting wise. Salmon capacios great. Volcano thumbs down birthday request 100%

(4)Jeri J.
The food is pretty good and the price is great HOWEVER they are a little racist towards blacks... I must say this is my 3rd and last time here.. I refuse to spend money and try to enjoy my food while being treated unfairly.
(3)Michelle W.
Love it. Got the volcano roll and it is delicious. Came here for my birthday, wanting some sushi and had a great a time
(5)Aingeal M.
I am never coming back to this restaurant ever again. I'm giving them one star just for the curtains and the ambiance. Other than that, I do not understand what the fascination is all about. Sushi is not fresh, service is ok, and it's too pricey. We left feeling like we never ate at all!
(1)George V.
amazing place only for sushi the only problem is that they put the air conditioning very cooled!!
(5)Lucy S.
Horrible staff but food quality amazing especially for sushi this is important, fresh taste
(3)Leah T.
Food is very good. Sushi is yum. Portions are good size. Prices arent too bad. They also have happy hour too!! Beautiful atmosphere
(5)Lori L.
Very trendy decor and vibe which is unusual for a sushi restaurant. Feels like you're in South Beach. The food is always fresh. It is a little pricey but if you do not want to pay full price they have a happy hour 5-7pm weekdays which has good selections at reasonable prices
(5)Chloe E.
Bar stays open, service was good, live DJ and open late. The price mark for certain items doesn't make sense. (Pad Thai $11 & 4 small Coconut Shrimp $11...I'm confused) The signature rolls were very intricate. Good service and atmosphere.
(4)Fred M.
Very good sushi and great decor and atmosphere. Quite a trendy place with a full liquor bar and open late. Been there many times in the last few years and still the 5 stars.
(5)Bryan G.
Hands down the best sushi I've had. They use fresh fish and high quality ingredients. The king crab hot and sour is a must along with their specialty rolls
(5)Julio M.
(4)Dana W.

(4)Lili L.
Always good! Love this place.. Very recommended! The cost is the same as every low class sushi, affordable and high class sushi.
(5)Mario D.
Amazing sushi - sushi special - Dragonfly is amazing - the whole place is white - it's that clean and fresh - the staff is great and I'm so impressed with the cleanliness. For a Wednesday night it's busy and the food was stiff fast!!
(5)Jeffrey L.
A little pricey... Dinner with drinks for 2 was well over $100. Also they add in a gratuity before giving you the bill.
(3)Joniene S.
Worth it. Great drinks. Great rolls. The manager came out and helped my friend order vegetarian meals. The atmosphere was beautiful too. We actually tried to come back but they are closed on Monday nights. Thanks again for such a great meal for these out of towners!
(5)Julia R.
We always enjoyed it. The food, the service and the atmosphire are really good.

(2)Igor K.

(3)R A.
Is this in a strip mall? Could've fooled me... feels like a club...there is always something interesting going on here....and the food is excellent...but certainly not cheap. I love how they are open til 2am....
(4)Priscilla R.

(5)Joe B.
Simply amazing. The atmosphere is only paralleled by the quality of food and service.
(5)Scarlett W.
(4)Maria R.
Thank you Yelp! We found this place driving to the beach and searching Yelp for a place to go . Amazing food, incredible service . The whole experience was a five start . Thanks again
(5)Jason V.
(4)Arelys C.
(5)Chris K.
Great sushi and very cool decor. You'll feel like you're on South Beach and forget you're actually in a strip mall. Ignore the exterior and hit this place up for some of the best tasting and best priced sushi around. We had the Cancun and Godzilla and they were delicious!
(5)Sherilet D.
Wow I loved this place! The minute you walk in you feel the nice vibe. The hostess was very friendly and helpful because I wanted a booth but there were none available and she told us she would move us to one as soon as someone stood up and she did. The service was very good. We tried the Oshi and Pink Salmon. Delicious!
(5)Andres A.
Incredible sushi, hands down my favorite. Nice decor and what not.....I go for the food!!!
(5)Dennis M.
(5)Gals S.
I really liked this place it has good atmosphere, pretty decor and the food was really good. The tuna tataki in the shape of a heart is one of the best I had the tuna tower with avocado also very good, and the miso soup was one of the best I have had. Would definetely go again.
(4)Klim K.
(2)Tony R.
(4)Adrian P.
(5)Jeremy Z.
This place has a modern great feel. I'd say it's more asian fusion than sushi but who cares the food was good as was the service.
(4)Andrea T.
Best Sushi in South Florida! The salmon Sushi pieces are so fresh and the Pink Dragon roll is amazing! We live 40 min away but is is worth the trip every time!
(5)Jorge W.
Great Food. If you are looking for unique Sushi, this is the place. Must try the tuna tartare as well.
(5)MICHELLE C.
(4)Alyvia M.
(4)Lee H.
Will you?
(5)Toni F.
(1)Drew W.
Good sushi at a place with great Miami-esque decor. You'll know you're in Miami when you eat here. The neon colors and the good sushi make this a solid spot.
(4)Carlos L.
Ultra modern posh decor, great sushi and presentation, service is good as well. Pricey for what it is: sushi, you are really paying for the decor, but the sushi is great!
(3)Jen M.
(5)michelle z.
Delicious food, great happy hour. I do not know why it is always empty. The service is hit or miss. Sometimes they run to serve you, and sometimes they let you sit there waiting for ever. Try the ceviche..yum!!
(4)Stephanie M.
(1)Mona K.
(3)Glenn M.
best happy hour ever!
(4)Barnaby R.
(5)Gil B.
(5)Petisha B.
(5)Alex S.
Good sushi food, nice place and great service....
(5)Laurelle C.
Excellent food, great service! It's a trendy place inside, I usually sit outside on one of the many couches to enjoy good food and wine with my husband and our friends. If you're trying to have a conversation it's best to sit outside, the music is pretty loud inside.
(5)Laura B.
swank swank SWANK! love this place... can't rant enough about how awesome the sushi and the drinks are. the pear martini is my personal favorite... love the atmosphere... low lighting, nice flowy white drapes... everything is very modern.. snazzy lounge music is always playing (sometimes more loudly than others), and there's always a fashion show playing on the televisions... pricey? yes. will your sushi loving date be impressed?? absolutely! i recommend.
(5)Tough C.
(4)Esteban Z.
(5)Brent M.

Enjoy!

Visited Miami for the weekend and while I'm not a sushi lover like my friend, this was easily one of my top 3 spots...

Some of the best sushi I've ever had. Tuna tartar and appetizer ribs were delicious. We also had a bunch of different rolls and all were really fresh and good. Excellent service. Can't wait to go back when in Fl.

Amazing... highly recommend calling ahead and ordering the snapper... can't go wrong here...

Great happy hour that offers a terrific value on drinks and sushi. Love the menu, tons to chose from. The atmosphere is very modern and a bit cold but if you get a booth it's great.

i was a little put off by the outdoor appearance of the restaurant (its a bit hidden in the corner of a strip mall), but i'm glad my lover forced me inside. our waiter, jeff, was very friendly and courteous.. and the food was phenomenal. the ceviche was fresh, lettuce wraps with shrimp were fresh and flavorful and the tsunami dish was out of this world. a bit expensive, but well worth it. i am really picky when it comes to sushi places, but this definitely fit the bill for me.
